Both Oregon and Washington State have been experiencing record high temperatures more associated with mid-April and May than to the dead of winter. In fact, temperatures have been so warm that flowers have already begun to bloom and bees and other insects have come out from their hibernation to take advantage of the rare stretch of sunny days. Joggers and adventure seekers have flooded regional parks and recreation centers, with sunbathers out in abundance.
Forecasters say the high pressure ridge stationed near the Pacific Northwest coast responsible for the days of sunshine and warmth could weaken by the end of the week and bring about some clouds and a chance of rain, but should return again with similar strength early next week, bringing with it more gorgeous weather.
Certainly, weary residents of the Northeast would switch places without a moment's hesitation.
