Can you draw a line from Point One to Point Two?
In a world of all-you-can-eat buffet style news that reports on ISIS atrocities in one breath and Kim Kardashian's dress in the next, it might be difficult for the average person to keep abreast of everything important. With near constant distractions from Facebook and Twitter status updates as well as endless text messaging, the average person is merely treading water in the continuous battle to stay afloat among the complexities of modern times. Therefore, it would be understandable for solid citizens to miss out on comprehending what is actually taking place around them at all times.
Case(s) in point:
The worst earthquake in over nine decades hit the Himalayan nation of Nepal today, bringing great destruction and death to the capital of Kathmandu and the surrounding region. Thousands are believed dead in the rubble of collapsed homes and buildings, and it will possibly take days for any recovery operation to find trapped people in the remote, mountainous region. The Nepal earthquake follows a powerful tremor that struck the North Island of New Zealand yesterday, a region of the world devastated by the 2011 Great Christchurch Earthquake.
On Friday, the Cabulco volcano in Chile erupted violently and unexpectedly for the first time in over five decades. The massive eruption spewed an ash cloud kilometers into the sky, and the Chilean government ordered mandatory evacuations of nearby towns and villages. A layer of ash several centimeters thick blanketed a wide area around the volcano. A second eruption later on Friday created more chaos, as flights into the Chilean capital Santiago as well as the Argentine capital of Buenos Aires had to be diverted or cancelled due to the ash cloud from the powerful eruption. The Cabulco volcano is believed to be part of the dangerous super-volcano caldera system of Laguna del Maule.

The eruption of the Chilean volcano comes a mere week after the European Science Foundation issued an official report warning the population to prepare for a global catastrophe such as the eruption of a super-volcanic system somewhere on the planet. Scientists with the foundation studied potential risks to the planet and arrived at the conclusion that there was a 5 to 10% chance of the eruption of a super volcano, such as the Yellowstone Caldera in the western United States, within the next several decades. Coincidentally, the US Geological Survey issued a report that a massive new magma chamber was discovered beneath the Yellowstone Caldera just this past week. The foundation warned an eruption such as this would have dire consequences for the entire planet, and could possibly lead to the deaths of billions of people worldwide, due to war, starvation, disease and pestilence.
All of this comes while the United States military has made plans to co-ordinate all branches in a major domestic operation known as Jade Helm 15. The operation will be conducted across the entire nation, and will involve local governments and law enforcement in training exercises ostensibly aimed at "domestic terror threats" within the nation. The training would also come in handy should martial law be declared within the country, due to a terrorist attack or declaration of war (with Russia and/or China) or another disaster, either climate-induced, geological threats such as a catastrophic earthquake or super volcano eruption or from celestial threats, such as an asteroid or comet impact upon the planet.

In possibly related news, the US military decided to reopen the Cheyenne Mountain Underground base in Colorado, decades after it was closed. The base was featured in the film Deep Impact, about a comet striking the earth and causing global devastation, as well as the WWIII nuclear thriller War Games and the science fiction film Stargate.
The words WalMart and Weirdness simply go hand-in-hand at all times, but the evil empire super-retailer made headlines last week after the sudden, unexpected closing of a handful of stores raised eyebrows. Rumors immediately began to swirl, that the stores closed were being punished for asking for wage increases for employees or that the store's supplies were being annexed by the US government for an "emergency situation", although the official [rather weak] reason given was "issues with plumbing". Rumors abounded as well that there were tunnels being burrowed beneath WalMart Supercenters, where supplies were being ferreted away for some unknown catastrophe. One of the stores closed in California was visited by a curious onlooker with a camera, who documented the weirdness before being asked to leave:

There are now 154 days left before the "Climate Chaos" deadline issued by the French Foreign Minister last year is reached on September 26, 2015. Minister Laurent Fabius issued the initial warning alongside US Secretary of State John Kerry in May of 2014, stating "We have 500 days to avoid climate chaos," during a conference at the State Department, although Fabius did not clarify precisely what he was referring to in his statement. The scan of troubling weather headlines on any given day should give cause for alarm to even the most in-denial of citizens.
The US Department of Energy issued their own alert last week as well. In an official compiled report, the DOE warned that "modern life" within the country was at risk by terrorist threats to the electric grid and other critical infrastructure, as well as by solar storms and risks associated with climate-change induced disasters. Seems as if alarm bells are being sounded on all possible fronts, if you can hear the ringing...
