The mysterious craters that began forming in "The Land of the End of the World" in Siberia have now turned into the "Lakes of the Deepest Unknown", as melting ice water and rain have filled the gigantic chasms to the brim.
The craters were first noticed last summer by pilots flying over the region. Many of the craters formed practically overnight and have been a great mystery to both locals and scientists, who convened in the area to study the phenomenon. At last count, at least eight of the craters had formed in the same general area of Siberia's Yamal peninsula. Most of the craters measure at least 50 meters/165 feet in depth.
Speculation began almost instantly on the Internet following the discovery of the craters, with claims of UFO activity or secret weapons testing, although the actual cause is no less alarming or sensational. Among the theories, one stands out above the rest: Large pockets of methane gas are being released from the ground due to the melting Arctic permafrost, caused by climate and Earth changes. These plumes of highly flammable gas then ignite, possibly from cloud-to-ground lightning strikes or even human activity. Loud, mysterious booms have been heard in the region, as well as the infamous "trumpet" noises being heard and recorded in skies in all four corners of the globe.
A crew of Russian scientists plan to study the newly-formed lakes using sensors and radar to explore the mysterious, watery depths. The natural clay dirt is still collapsing into the craters, causing them to continue expansion. Lead scientists with the expedition have expressed the urgency of the situation, fearing potential future catastrophes should one of the craters form in a populated region, threatening lives.
As Earth changes continue to reshape and mold the planet, society is experiencing the heavy weight and burden of these changes, which is causing and will continue to cause social unrest, bizarre human and animal behaviors, changes in human and animal health as well as extreme economic upheaval, global strife and wars over resources. My sincere advice to anyone reading this: Take a snapshot of your life and the world around you today, as it will be unrecognizable in the years and decades to come...
